Catherine Doherty is a British conceptual artist who works predominantly within the parameters of painting. After recently graduating from the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury, she currently resides in the Essex/Cambridgeshire area. Her work explores the use of oil paint across a range of subjects, most often depicting landscape and seascape scenes. The work currently investigates the limits of painting, and how it may be expanded and pushed into other realms, such as three-dimensions. Doherty's 3D paintings explore the effects of colour combination and attempt to construe figurative notions, in abstract means, through pixelation.
